Laying foundations for Strong Financial Futures

Experts say that financial habits are set during elementary school ages so why wait to try to correct those habits. Together we can work to help students develop good decision-making skills in their formative years.

The Kansas Council for Economic Education and its partners are proud to introduce Financial Foundations for Kansas Kids! FF4Kids is a comprehensive set of standards-based, interactive computer courseware lessons that integrate personal financial literacy and its underlying economic principles into the social studies, language arts and math curriculums. FF4Kids is designed to build upon this knowledge with grade appropriate programs/lessons.

FF4Kids hosts 75 videos for grades K-2, 3-5 & 6-8. The videos use age-appropriate characters and storylines sure to keep your students engaged while they are exposed to economics and financial literacy vocabulary and examples of the video concepts. The companion teacher guides provide essential questions and additional activities to help reinforce the video concepts and great ways to do even more with the program. Assessments are also available for each grade level. Click on the Teacher tab above to download guides and see all resources available. CLICK HERE to join our user list so we can share updates and additional resources are added.

The original interactive version created in 2005 using Adobe Flash is still available to be used but must be installed on the computer so your school tech person may need to be involved. This original version contains a total of 28 hours of interactive learning with 350 interactive activities including 157 math exercises. Assessments for each grade level are avaialable. We are currently working on transferring these activities and math exercises to a new format. CLICK HERE to complete a request form for installation instructions and access to the necessary files.)

All K-12 schools in Kansas can receive access to the courseware and teacher training free-of-charge!
